But .....Really?? An entire planet to explore, study & experience but I'd rather watch a show like this instead. NOT!
When I purchased my RV one of the first things I did in the first RV park I stayed at was remove the flatscreen TV, mounting bracket, cables, remote and place them on the picnic table with a sign that said $100.... brand new never used. If I'm not here tape money to my door or if you're really hard up you can just have the thing....... then I went hiking & exploring.

A few hours later when I returned TV was gone and there were 2 50's taped to my door. To this day I don't know who 'bought' it......but they need it more than I.

Thanx..........INTJohn
Well OK then.

Reality shows are a prefabbed joke. We have a pawn store in Detroit that has a really show called Hardcore Pawn. It showcases people bringing in odd things and folks fighting and being generally aggressive and trashy.

Well one day the producers called my brother about his ad on Craigslist. They asked him to bring the item in to sell it. We brought it in, they told us to act like we just decided to bring it in. They appraised our item, decided they can't sell it and we left. It was a circus. They even had folks that were there to "cause a scene". Sadly it never even aired

All in all there is ZERO reality in those shows.....

It's on GAC (Directv 326) on Wednesdays. "Going RV" is the name of the program. We love when the people tell the salesman their budget of $55,000 and the first one he shows them is $95,000. Now after seeing all those bells & whistles, do you think they are going to like $55,000!

Haven't watched it, but I imagine it's similar to the House Hunters International type show we peek at every now and then.
They usually show some couple three of the most fantastic, awe inspiring 1000 year old completely remodeled Tuscan village homes...to which the wife or husband always remarks something like "but the bathroom is quite small", or "it doesn't have room for a king size bed".....all the while they are looking at homes in freaking Tuscany.
Yes, reality tv...gotta love it.

PS. My Wife's response to the people who bring up silly concerns on those shows is always the same: "but you mean it doesn't have a rocket launcher?...that is unacceptable"

I watched one of these reality RV shows a couple days ago. The motorhome salesman was one of the sleaziest looking salesmen I've ever seen. There's NO WAY I'd ever buy a MH/TT from him.

Another couple was shown a Livin' Lite popup. The salesman dropped the dinette table down to make the bunk, the girl layed down on it, and it promptly collapsed under her. They all back up from the dinette and the whole trailer tilted up and they fell into the rear bunk. Pretty funny. They ended up with a A-frame.

Are we referring to Big Time RV? We actually really enjoy the show. New season just started a couple weeks ago. Sure it's scripted and there is a TON that isn't shown but it still gives a great insight as to what people like, where they splurge, etc. Forest River is shown quite a bit on the show as well.

Well folks I have made a living for 36 years in the TV industry doing Real TV. Sports, Olympics Winter and Summer, News, Music, Politics you name it I have engineered it! Realty TV fits a audience but I would not throw all series under the Bus. Ice Pilots, Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers.

About the only time i see any of these is if there is absolutely nothing else on that I am interested in, or it is one as I search the guide for something to watch. One has someone looking to upgrade. Well it seems they bought a unit in their budget but there was no mention on the $50,000+ truck they will need to pull it.

There is one where they rebuild classic trailers that isn't too bad. The ones with the high dollar rigs do not interest us at all as our needs or wants are much less. We are happy with our 30' fiver and camping at National parks, Forest Service areas, State parks and the like.

Someone must be watching them because they are still one and renewed year after year.

My family will be on Big Time RV Sunday at 8. We are all excited to see what and how they spliced in 3 days of filming! Filming crew was amazing with our kids and the ultimate professionals. Big props to our crew and all their efforts to make us feel comfortable and have an experience that we will always remember !!! We have a 29UD3 wildwood and love it!!!

I can't believe you gave up the outdoor kitchen either. but on the other hand being a gal myself I think you made the best choice considering there are 3 ladies in the RV.

Family and I had a great time filming and in the end it was better to get the 3 bunks for the kids and the sink outside the bathroom. We love our travel trailer and our planning our next big trip - Canada!!!

I liked your episode. Did they contact you to be on the show? Looks like a fun memory.

I entered a contest through lazy days to have our old travel trailer kitchen remodeled. The story i sent in must have caught the eye of the Big Time RV producers.
