$75 credit card gas limit strikes again

Now that gas is back in the mid 3s and headed higher the
old $75 limit struck me again.

On a recent trip to FL I had a gas pump stop before my
tank was completely full.
It happened again today at a WalMart gas pump.

Yeah, I know I can re-scan my card and re-enter
my zip code but it frosts me to have the extra hassle
and extra receipts to keep track of.

Are there cards or gas chains that don't have the limit???

That happened to me at a BP station the other day, and I rescanned my card, yada yada yada. 30 minutes later I received a fraud alert text message from Chase for the credit card I had used! I called and they flagged two charges at the same gas station within a few minutes as possible fraud. I'm glad that they are watching for stuff like that, but it has to be keeping them busy with prices this high

Hmm, the only pump I've ever had kick off is on the Navy base and it's at $50. Never had it happen any place else. Wonder why?

Had that happen two years ago. A buddy of mine and I took his two older sons to Florida for the shuttle launch (guys trip).

He had a class A rig and it was my turn to fill the 75 gallon tank, $135 dollars later and two transactions we were on the road. All the cars filling up were giggling. Such the life we choose.

ah good ole Dave Ramsey - He would be proud - I am trying to get those credit cards paid off with Gazelle intensity

I went to a Cheveron recently and it let me fill $99 worth since my Dodge was near empty on a 36 gallon tank - man does it hurt too

You can contact your credit card issuer and and ask them to raise the limit on gasoline purchases. They do have some control over this. It is not the gas station.

Luckily I haven't had to buy fuel in a couple weeks, I've been riding my motorcycle as much as possible (45 mpgs) I emptied a full 5 gallon kerosene can into the truck the other day since I don't need it anymore this year, sure wasn't letting it go to waste

Don't think that's entirely true, I can fill up at any station around me except 1.

I know this is not on topic but curiosity has me here
Is the Kerosine for the Diesel truck?
and what does Kerosine do - stabilize the diesel fuel or am I off in left field here

yes, in a diesel truck, burns just like diesel fuel, wouldn't run a full tank of it but a couple gallons won't hurt anything. I don't think it would lube the fuel componets as good as diesel fuel.

Wish our Diesle prices was as cheap as the Gas, $3.70's for Gas $ 4 plus for Diesle

It may be the stations credit card processor that requires the lower limit. The station has to pay a fixed charge, usually .25 per swipe, less if its debit and then a percentage of the sale (usually 1.5% - 2.0%). They will have no incentive to have you swipe the card twice to complete your fill-up.
