Best Price on Maxxis and Goodyear Tires?

The most popular ST tires here on FRF seem to be Goodyear Endurance and Maxxis M8008. With our previous TT I bought Maxxis M8008 tires from DiscountTireDirect.com and they provided good service but they didn’t have any tires newer than 6 months old.

Where is everyone buying their Goodyear Endurance and Maxxis M8008 tires? My tires are ST225/75R15 LRE so please don’t suggest I switch to LT tires.

For what it's worth, Discount currently has both the M8008 for $127 and the Endurance for $130 a piece. For a total of $12 difference in a set of 4, it really comes down to personal brand preference.

May I ask what your reservations are with new, unmounted tires that are 6 months old? Chances are good since they haven't been under load pressures or exposed to the elements (constant, direct UV light) they haven't degraded at all. I can understand a used set that is a year+ old.

I've got D rated tires on my trailer and am getting ready to pull the trigger on the same size 225/75/15 D's at Discount. The M8008's are $121 a piece and seem to have really good reviews on more than just tire sales websites.

Discount Tire is showing the Maxxis M8008 at $107 ea and the Goodyear Endurance at $120 ea. in the ST225/75R15 size and Load Range E.

I’d like to know if you can get them cheaper anywhere.

The generally accepted practice is that ST tires should be changed when they are around 5 years old, so I’d prefer not have a 10% reduction in life when I buy the tires. I had to return the first set they sent me that were 18 months old.

Camping world has Goodyear endurance cheaper for good sam members, and they have a deal on installations. Plus the have the equipment and know how to Jack up an RV correctly

Good Sam doesn’t provide service up here and there are no Camping Worlds here either, but they do have one close to the border.

I checked their website and could see how to get a price on an unmounted tire.

I don't think I'd trust any Camping World to touch my RV with a wrench...

Let alone buy tires from them and let them do the install.

I'll bet they don't even have the right stuff to balance the tires.

I just bought Goodyear Endurance from Discount . They came with a prepaid Master Card worth $60 and since I used my Discount credit card and additional $40. I like Discount because they all seem to have a Hunter Road Force Balancer that is the cat’s meow for long term/proper balancing provided the operator takes advantage of its features.

Interestingly...

A few weeks ago while walking through the auto department at the local Walmart I saw a cart with four tires on it.

Upon closer inspection, they were Goodyear Endurance trailer tires...

At Walmart!

Walmart is the place I wouldn’t trust for tires or any automotive service

I was just pointing out that they are available at Walmart...

Although I'd trust Walmart more than I would Camping World to install them!

I purchase four Maxxis 8008 tires on Ebay, when they arrived I was surprised to find the tires were only three weeks old. If my memory is correct, I believe I paid just under $400 for the four, wasn't charged any sales tax and the shipping was free to my door. I had them mounted by a local tire shop. I supervised the jacking of the trailer. Tires now have a little over 8000 miles on them and still appear new.

Discount Tire will Match price

My local Discount Tire here in Frisco Texas will match price. The price can be a brick and mortar store or an online site provided that the online site price you are asking to have matched includes shipping.

I find the best time to buy is around a holiday (Memorial, July 4 or Labor). At those times Discount will have extra discounts if you buy 4 tires and if you use their Discount Tire Credit card. You can apply for the Discount Credit Card and get immediate approval at the same time you are buying the tires (I pay it off interest free when I get the first statement).

Last time I replaced my Maxxis 8008 tires was Sept.2018 and at that time the cheapest price was the online Simple Tire price so I added a set of 4 to the Simple Tire cart, put in my zipcode to get shipping added (it happened to be free ship). I did a cut/paste of the screen using the Microsoft clipping tool and printed it. Took that to the Discount store and the manager honored the price and also gave me the additional $75 mail-in rebate for using the Discount Credit Card. Even after adding sales tax, I walked out with a net price less than $400 for the set.

Got my 8008 E ratings from SimpleTire.com. Best price I could find for the Es. Ds were cheaper elsewhere.

We bought our Endurance tires 2 years ago at a Goodyear owned store. As I recall the price was about $120 each and included spin balancing and mounting. But, instead of using clamp on weights, they had some sort of weight that attached to the inside of the tire rim and was set up so the tire wouldn't just be balanced on its outer rim, but, would prevent wobble from a side to side imbalance as well. First time I had seen that. Best part, the tires were made the same week they were delivered to the store. Can't get much fresher than that. We also found another good place for tires was Costco. Got our truck tires from them - Michelin - and a good Costco price. What impressed me was they have you come back after driving about 25-40 miles and they re-torque the lug nuts - by hand to make sure the torques are correct on all the tires. Since I mounted my TT tires myself, I could torque them to the proper Lbs. myself. Didn't want anyone messing with the TT tires (and suspension) but me. Yes, I did two tires on one side, than the two on the other side and drove to the Goodyear shop to have the tires mounted. It was worth the two trips.

I just bought 4 Goodyear Endurance ST205/75R14's at Sam's Club today for $112.99 and received an $80 instant rebate. Mounting and balancing added another $60.

Walmart is $10 cheaper per size for Endurance fitting my trailer (205/75-14)

Tire rack $112
Walmart $102

Free shipping from WM and you just have to find a shop to install/balance.

Priced the same tire at Discount's website. Tire was offered for less than $100 but the "Fees" added up to $90 for a set of tires, not including Sales Tax.

Im guessing most of the Endurance tires mentioned here where not E rated which are a little higher also 15 inch. I do not think buying on line reallym saves that much. I support my local business and get pretty good deals. Later RJD

Balancing trailer tires

Why are the two trailer dealers in my area flatly refusing to balance my tires ??
Their claim is that NOBOBY balances trailer tires ( not necessary they claim). What's the true dupe ??
