Plug in distance to look, model number and find a reasonable price for what you want.

I looked at the TT I wanted at the nearest dealer about 45miles away. I considered traveling 500-600 miles to go to Haylett RV in MIchigan but found a great price and the newer year model about 180 miles away in Ohio using RVtrader. I got my 2019 in April 2018! Saved over $4000 from the local dealer.

I can't get "194BHS" to work with RvTrader. Even messing with the URL it's no help

I can't find the 194 locally, but the 2020 193BHS MSRP's at $23.3k and AC Nelsen sells them at $17.6k. We were very happy with them when we bought our 2018 Grey Wolf 23MK a couple years ago.
Good luck.

When he calls back, whatever price he gives you, take $500-1000 off of it, and tell him you already have a deal cooking at another place for that much, but if he wants to match it, then you might be able to work something out.

Just remember... He started it.

I would try a different dealer! Most of the "Big Box" dealers play these "antics" if they think you are really interested. I would be surprised if you won't be contacted in a week and offered a much lower deal. Good luck!!!!!

I have done the following with car deals.

I end up getting that call, days later, from the sales guy, who tells me "Now it's xyz price".

I then say "Wow, sorry guy. I don't deal with liars. You told me last Friday that _____ was the lowest you could go. Now you go lower. Not sure what else you are lying about, but I think I'll go elsewhere".

He either goes nuts, or breaks down and cries and gives me his true lowest price.

Remember, AFTER you take it home, you won't remember his name ever again.

Don't reply This is just a fishing expedition to try to determine if you have gone elsewhere.

Problem with going that route is when he calls me on it and wants a price sheet from the other dealer

Yup. I haven't replied at all. I'm not emotionally invested at all. Almost wanna cut ties 100% from the way we were treated but meh, whateves.

Doing some sleuthing around on their website, all their ~$25k rigs are marked off ~30% So if I take that into consideration I should be ~$19.5k OTD with their tacked on BS fees. I'll get a ~$300 WDH and install it myself.

They already insulted your intelligence with the four square. I would totally cut ties with them. They are just playing you. There are plenty of ethical dealers out there that don't play games and will have that 30+ percent discount readily available, with no hidden fees. Just remember, if they are playing games with you now, how bad do you think it will be once you buy and need servicing. I would have walked the moment I saw that four square and the ridiculous insulting price.

So? Either he wants the deal or not. It's not like he's gonna sit there and go, man, I really shouldn't do this deal, but he does have a sheet from another dealer. He asks for that sheet in hopes that you sheepishly admit there is no other deal.

I tell him "I don't operate that way. I don't play one off the other. If you wanna match the deal, we can talk. If not, we got nothing else to discuss."

works more often than it doesn't

It may be fun to mess with a clown like this, but. There is no way to trust him, period.

He will ambush you some place else. Higher fees at the closing. Demanding the check before the PDI. High paperwork fees. Lots of other tricks.

My dealer was pretty non negotiable. He offered me a deal over the phone for less than I expected.

The clown is basically a thief. Preying on the newbies. Their sales model works well enough to not stop. ________ him and the horse he rode in on.

A dealer near me sells these rv’s. Advertises about 25-30% off on the internet.

I don't have to 'trust' a salesman to get a good deal. In fact, I categorically distrust all people when they are trying to take my money. But I absolutely love playing the game with them, because I know that if I can't 'win', the worst I can do is 'tie', and that's when I walk out the door. They might be masters of playing with newbies and uninformed people and getting the better of them, but against someone who has some horse trading knowlege, they really don't have a clue. They keep falling back on their little tricks (like the 4-square sheet) and they just look lost as kittens when they realize none of them are working. Almost breaks my heart.

General rule. When negotiating after an offer or counter offer, he/she who talks first loses.

And like clockwork, just received this about 24 hours after his last text:
Quote:
$22,000 work?
Half tempted to respond: "I see that all your $25k rigs are marked off ~30% So if I take that into consideration I should be @ $19.5k OTD after prep and doc fee. If you can get to $19.5k with a WDH installed I'll consider. Otherwise thank you for your time."

Probably gonna see what the OKC dealer 1.5hr away can do.

RV manufacturers have little to say how dealers market their products. It doesn't work like the Auto Industry.
Just look how much variance there is in MSRP numbers.

Hello,

We're in the market for Coachmen Apex Nano 194BHS with the Off Grid package in Quartz.

Wondering if you could meet or beat the price listed here https://www.rvt.com/Coachmen-Apex-Na...89057-UX191574

If so could you email me a purchase agreement and I could get a deposit down as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time,
Mike
