I think the rural NY/PA area is fairly inexpensive, we're not all that far from the factories, that might be a factor, too.

IMHO, it averages more than 20% more on the West Coast.
That's why we drove to the Midwest to get our first new trailer.

I have often wondered what their margin is. We got our Hemisphere for around 40% less than MSRP. I know by our financing the dealer was 10% or less above his cost.

I'd happily drive somewhere to save 20% but I just don't have that kind of time in this stage of life.

When we bought our 192RBS, it was on order (we didn’t order it, the dealer had for stock). We really liked the one they already had (sold), so we said we would take the ordered one when it came in after checking it out.

Well, it was taking longer to come in than anticipated, so decided to look around a little more. Campers Inn (another one to avoid) had the same camper but with fewer options. They told me their prices were the absolute lowest due to high volume. Then the quoted price was $2000 higher with less options!

I told them no thanks and gave the price quoted from the other dealer (with more options). I was honest with the price because I had no interest in the lower optioned trailer.

They called at least 5 more times, lowering their price each time til they met the first dealers price. When I pointed out it still had fewer options they finally gave up. Amazing the stuff they try to pull.

Took us 2 days to get there and made a camping trip out of the return leg.
