Decoding a Rockwood Mini Lite VIN number
I'm purchasing a used 2017 Mini Lite.
Can you tell from the VIN number what year it is? The side sticker has a date on it of 06/10/2016. I'm wondering if it is a 2016 or 2017.

Don't know about deciphering the VIN, but FWIW new models of upcoming year are released very early in the season. Go by what your title says it is. My 2016 was ordered from FR in 03/15 as a 2015 model but, delivered in 05/2015 to me as a 2016 model. Build date on the side sticker also confirms 2015 build, but title says 2016 as you would guess. Would figure your title says 2017. Having a friend with same model as mine only a 2015, there were minimal cosmetic differences

the frame may be from 2016 or 2017 but all that matters is how it is titled
if you believe that the title is not accurate, you probably shouldn't be doing business with the person

Probably a 2017 model year. Just like the Auto Industry, model years are generally around 4-6 months early.

According to FR, the 10th digit of the VIN is the year.
G = 2016
H = 2017
Hope this helps.

The 10th digit in our VIN is D, build date 8/12/2016 and it's a 2017 model. Go figure...

It's no different than Auto Industry bringing out their 2020 models this year, other than they do it later in the year.

Yep, I wasn't clear....the "Go Figure" comment referred to the inconsistency between what FR told DW about the 10th digit, and what I have on my 2017.

My 2019 has a build date of 04/04/2018. The 10th character of the VIN is K which would be consistent with what D W posted.
