Extended Warranty??

Our trailer arrived this week and we spent some time Saturday looking it over and finalizing the deal. Anyway, they offered us a National Warranty, but being our first TT, I am wondering if it might be a good idea. I am pretty handy as I do 95% of my own mechanic works, so I could probably figure things out, but time is always an issue.

I have had extended warranties in the past on cars and houses. Some worked in my favor and others were a waste of money because they did all they could to get out of paying.

What's your take? Did you buy one? Worth it? With the unusually poor QC that seems to be prevalent in so many products lately, I am wondering if it might something I should seriously consider. Thanks for your insight!

I did not opt for one. If you are truly handy then one of the best bits of advice I’ve seen is whatever the monthly premium should have been take that amount and stick it in the bank. Generally speaking the things that are most likely to go wrong will do so under the original warranty. Insurance of any kind is always a gamble.

Do a search on this site for Extended Warranties. Several thousands posts and opinions on them. Congratulations on the trailer.

We have always had extended warranties on our Diesel pushers , only because of the cost of repairs ......we now are going be ordering a Riverstone Legacy around mid march when the 2022's are available to order..... and we will not be purchase an extended warranty we will just keep 5k as a repair fund

I have reached out to the top companies noted on this site. I have found that they are significantly cheaper than what my dealer quoted me. So I do believe that we will not be buying an extended warranty at this point. And likely be putting money away monthly for repairs that may pop up after the 1yr warranty.
