Please let us know what they say. My standard factory warranty runs out in May and I was thinking about calling them too but I figured it was already too late.

Thanks,

Per FR's Carmen (filling in for Stephanie), there is NO extended warranty available on motorized products.

I was lucky enough to get mine paid for by the dealer cause it was part of my "package deal" - found out when I was signing the paperwork they never offered that deal at the show so apparently I was the only one to get it.

To all that have seen the pdf floating around - it hasnt changed and it is still the same

I will. Hope it's good news.

Either way I don't think I'm going to purchase the service contract. Too pissed at the dealership. Only piece I'm worried about is the slide.

Just heard back from Johnathan. Really nice guy. Unfortunately, I'm too far out to be able to get the second year warranty.

Dealer

After reading thru these post prior to our dealer visit I was aware of the one year and the option for the 2nd year. The dealer told me on several times that it had a 2 yr warranty. I questioned him on the next vist and got the 2 year answer again. When it came time for the paper work they did offer me the info on the form and the $150 cost. I informed them that they had told me numerous times it came with a 2 yr. The questioned the sales guy and they agreed to pay for the 2nd year. Thank You Forum for the heads up. It pays to be informed when you are purchasing.

Edit - Here's the PDF so you don't need to go to the link. Please note that I have no idea if the form has changed or if this one will work.

Extended warranty

We just took possession of our brand new 2011 Wildcat Sterling edition 32RL yesterday. We received the warranty paperwork and I had talked to the dealer. However, she said in all her years of selling Forest River she had never sold an extended warranty for them since most of what is covered by it such as the frig are already covered by the manufacturer for two years or longer. For those of you who have used the extended warranty can I ask what it covered and how much the repairs would have cost if you had to pay out of pocket?

Dealers do not make any profit from that sale... that explains why...

I did take the extended warranty and it covers more or less everything.

Yes there may be more than one year on some components, but I'd rather have FR deal with that 2nd year.

For the equivalent of 2 gas tanks, I figured it was worth it. I have made worse investments before

I wrote Forest River because I too received no info on the 2nd year warranty from my dealer. I was told they don't offer it on motorized units.

I picked up my trailer on the 9th of March and the dealer was sending in the paperwork for the 2nd year - which I havent recieved the paperwork from Forest River as of yet - I am gonna give it another day or two before I send my sales guy an email asking him to verify it was sent in since everyone seems to be getting a 7 to 10 day turn around time on recieving there paperwork back from Forest River

Like others I contacted Jonathan at FR about the second year warranty. He said that the dealership is not required to offer it. But the bad news is that Salem is not included and nor is he the correct person for my unit anyway.

Time to move onto the next step....

I bought my Cherokee 2011 on January 11th, picked up the TT on 4/9, mailed the form on 4/11, and got my warranty back in the mail today 4/20. I am all set for the 2nd year. Thanks for the info..

How do you know how much to pay for the 2nd year warranty? I never got any papers as well.
