I tried calling but did not get anywhere.

So, we sent the extended warranty request with a check two months after purchacing out Puma. I put a sticky note on it explaining that the dealer did not give us the paperwork and asked to accept the application. Within a week, e received he signed application from FR.

I bought a camper from the states just the other week i live in Canada. I bought payed for the camper but i am not picking it up till mid April. Cause there is no sense it sitting here for winter. So you think i should fill the form out and still send it in?? Or should i do it in April? If i fill it out know should i just explain that i am not taking delivery till mid April?? My dealer is telling me that i can wait cause it is 10 days after it is registered?

Here's our experience -- Ordered the 233s Roo in July and it was delivered 3 weeks ago...Went to see it and make final payment...Asked for 2nd year warranty paperwork...Couldn't be found...Left without paying for camper until "paperwork" found...Form was emailed to us with, "Sorry, the form was lost within all your final paperwork"...Will pay for and pick up the Roo next week...FR reps were called during "lost" paperwork episode...THEY said until final payment is made, the clock does not start on 10-day period to pay for 2nd year warranty...Apparently, the day you drive it off the dealer's lot, that gives you 10 days to mail the form in. Of course, numerous owners have written, "Ten day due date is not a problem with FR". Make sure. Good luck

When was your actual date of purchase?

I would think that this date is when the first year warranty begins and also the date the additional 12-month warranty will begin a year later.

Of course, if you have a say in the matter, you are much better off if you can start the warranty next April upon delivery.

Actual date of purchase was 9/23/11, the day I paid for the camper in full. But the dealer and FR confirmed that the warranty starts on the day I drive off the lot with the camper. I have that in writing. So, picking it up and driving off will be 10/15/11, that will be the date of the 1st year warranty beginning. When I send $150 and the form to FR for the 2nd year warranty, the 2nd year warranty will cover from 10/15/12 to 10/15/13.

I'd send it off soonest... in case something happens to it over the winter.

2nd. year warrenty

I recently picked up a new Surveyor and called Forest River 10 days later to obtain the extended warrenty. They told me that the deaer hadn't sent in the registration info on the transaction yet transferring ownership to me.I gave them my info and credit card info and said it will go through once they receive the paperwork. A few weeks later they called to say the dealer finally registerted it and they completed the transaction. So for those of you that bought a unit and are not picking it up to later I would say your "time" starts once the dealer sends the new ownership info into forest river. Regardless when you took delivery I think your warrenty starts the day Forest river receives the transfer documentation and registers you as the new owner.

Mine was Aug 8 and my pick up was Sept 1.

Last night I have to crawl through the front hatch under the bed and take apart my door handle in the inside due to my deadbolt not releasing.
I forgot that the 2 tv's ready for mounting on the walls were on the bed.

My new Flagstaff 26FKWS is on order and my salesman quoted a $250 charge for the 2nd year of factory warranty. Is this a price increase, dealer mark-up, or possible misquote?

I will be polite and call it a misquote.

My dealer 'misquoted' us a price of $350 + HST(13%), but he was just trying to rip us off

I would deal directly with FR via the # that has been posted previously on this thread =]

Congrats on the trailer!!!!

Wish there was some accountability for dealers that fail to disclose this warranty option, or try to charge more for it. I just bought a Shockwave 32SALX in AUG and was never told about this option. However, I was told about their $2,000 option for 7 years. I told them to pound sand and then I came across this info. This is completely UNSAT. I am at 4 months of ownership and unable to obtain the additional coverage. Not sure how this practice is legal and it definitely is not ethical. I am a bit upset since my rig has sat in the shop now for the past 4-weeks getting warranty repairs.

I would still give it a try. We have a handful of active threads on the 2nd year warranty; have a look through them as some people have posted direct contact info. Call up FR and explain the situation; that your dealer witheld this info. You may get lucky.

Or print off the form and send it in. Add a note saying "sorry this is late in arriving; my dealer didn't mention it at time of sale."

Couchs RV Nation ommited to inform me of the FR warranty extension avaiable but wanted to sell me their 5 yr warranty for 1700 dollars.
I called Fr direct and picked up the extra year for 150 but now comes the challange of getting money back on work I had to pay for up front covered by warranty..

I just paid $250 to FR directly (574-534-3167, Rhonda) for the extended 24-month, bumper to bumper factory warranty on my Shockwave. The extended warranty has to be purchased within 10 days of buying the new unit.

When I asked about the price difference she said it is based on the price of the unit which falls into 1 of 3 categories. The lowest priced units are covered for $150 then $200 and finally $250.
