We have the rv insurance, but haven't had to use it yet.

Had the roadside assistance and used it once for our truck. We ended up renewing the coach-net that came with our rig. Darned if I can remember why....

The way Good Sam is trending I would look elsewhere. I read an article this morning that they have notified all Good Sam Clubs, State Directors etc to suspend future get togethers, Even told local Good Sam Clubs to quit meeting. My DW has a relative that is a Director and she verified they had been notified along those lines. I am sure some of it is to protect ol Marcus against potential claims due to CoronaVirus .

The Good Sam road side assistance is fine if you never need to use it! I had two friends that had to use it last year 2019 and both were canceled by Good Sam for as they said "over use" of the plan. So I would not recommend them currently, many years ago they were quite good, but not now.
I use the Coach Net plan, currently. When I did have to use them a couple of years ago they did a very good job.

It has to do with the underlying issues with the parent company.

Some say that Good Sam, Camping World, etc, may be on the way out.

Had it for 5 years, had a claim last year when we had a blow out 60 miles from home . We were on a 2 lane hwy with no shoulder going up hill about 40 mph. The tire that blew was on passenger side. It drug us off the side of pavement and the awning drug a sign which slid under the trailer . damage to the hangers at a 60 degree on passenger side 3o degree on drivers side. tore under body . It took took forever to get them to pay for the actual cost of the under body repair and hanger replacements.. The Good Sam Insurance is National General. I discovered I did not need this high grade insurance because it covers my RV as if it is my living quarters year round. We only use our trailer about 3 months out of the year. A general RV insurance policy issued by the same company as my home and auto insurance is sufficient for our needs and is 1/2 the annual cost.
