We use Costco Kirkland , septic tank recommended. Only problems when we have company and they don't flush enough water with waste.

I’m a little disappointed guys, I just read 13 pages of this thread and not one of you mentioned the geo method for cleaning your black tank. What gives?
Also, I have an opinion to share; use whatever TP you desire, you’re not going to hurt your tank or the parks septic. Flush with plenty of water, dump when full, and use the geo method to square away your black tank on the ride home or to your next destination. It really is that easy.

The issue of THIS thread is toilet paper, not cleaning tank. The original question was: "How do you wipe away the high price toilet paper?"

Geo method hasn't let me down yet. Cap of calgon, cap of cheap laundry liquid and a bowl of water after each dump.

Let's get together for a beer and you can educate me on the nuisances of toilet paper. Rumor has it the Navy has soft, scented paper. Same with the Air Force but they have pink bunnies and flowers printed on it.

One could use the same system used on babies for centuries. Just vary it a little. Instead of wearing a diaper all day, just use a smaller one to "clean up" and toss it in a diaper pail. When full just hit the laundry. Toss in a little bleach to take care of stains and odor.
Either invest in a supply of "washable wipes" or save your old flannel shirts and bed sheets. Cut them into squares of the appropriate size.
On the plus side, you can use clean pieces to polish the truck and RV when necessary.
Just make sure the "container" you use in the bathroom is air/bug tight. Don't want the smell or flies visiting.
If this method was good for our tiny backsides when we were born (at least for my generation) why not for our old backsides?

And you come by this opinion how?
Next time you are at a campground or RV park...or complain about their price being too high...ask them how often they have to have their septic system worked on!

I am guessing they have them pumped often,,, especially if people drop baby wipes in there Pots !!! One of our local rv Dealerships that had a dump station,,, it was open 24/7 for we that bought RVs from them,,, they ask for $5 when we used it,,, until some A Hole stuffed a sheet into it !!! Now it cost $20 and is locked @ night !!!

Welcome to the club from the West Country west of Rocky.
Kirkland TP is good stuff, we've been using it for 20 years and it's priced right. I remember when we bought our 1st trailer at (I believe) Schwab's RV in Leduc when the salesman said 'all you need is one cup of water to flush' - yeah right.

I assume you do not do the shopping, but ask you wife, she will know what brands you use.

I’m on septic now, that’s how I know.
The TP breaks down, it doesn’t matter which brand you use. Flush with enough water and it will break down in your rv tank too.
Obviously baby wipes are a separate issue and I didn’t say anything about those. How exactly do you come across your opinion?

How do you wipe away the high price toilet paper?
A septic system uses bacteria to break down the waste, so “septic safe” doesn’t refer to the ability of toilet paper to dissolve in fluids, but instead the capacity to be broken down by the bacteria efficiently without any detrimental effects to the bacteria (such as using chlorine or other chemicals). A RV black water tank is different; you use black tank chemicals to prevent, not cause, bacterial breakdown and odor. The RV TP must dissolve and flow without bacteria, so “septic safe” is an immaterial term to an RV. Six rolls of two-ply Thetford RV toilet paper is about $6.00 and lasts our camping season. I can afford the six bucks.
