LED Toilet Lights and Golden Ruby-Lined Chocks

$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Say WHAT???

We are preparing for our first camping trip and I have been a bit upset. There are a lot of things I've been discovering that we don't yet have. The problem is that I wanted to make a first trip and then see what we need vs buying and then finding out we don't use or like, etc. There is a TON of money that can be spent after the RV purchase, and while I don't mind spending it on items that will maximize our enjoyment, I just don't feel that I should stock up on everything right away.

So here is where I stand:

RV toilet paper
50A to 30A adapter
chocks
in-line water filter
water hose
water pressure regulator
waste water draining hose/support
toilet tabs
coupler lock
stab jack drill bit
rubber mallet
zip ties
voltage tester
fuses
kneepads
gloves
camping chairs

and of course there are going to be the normal things that are found in the house (paper towels, utensils, games, food, etc.)

What else do I need (that I won't have in the house already) to make this first trip a success? Or any non-NEED items that 90%+ of seasoned campers have? We will have a Walmart a few miles down the road for any non-RV related items (although I have heard some do have a limited RV section also.)

I would add
50 to 15 amp adapter (might not need for this trip, but may need sometime)
Assorted tools (hammer, wrenches, pliers, screwdriver)
Rhino sewer line (if you don't have one already)
collapsible ramp thingy for sewer line (totally helps draining, according to the DH)
Flashlight(s)
Small Axe (if you are going to have campfire, we didn't have one on our first trip and it made it hard to do!)

We just spent the last month buying stuff for the RV and I think we FINALLY have gotten done buying. Amazon, Camping World and Harbor Freight were our 3 favorite places last month. Also, Bed, Bath and Beyond for household stuff.

Good luck and happy camping!!!

Had everything set aside on the list you added aside from the small axe, believe it or not, but I forgot to add to list. Also just purchased a 9x12 patio mat and stakes. And I also forgot to add that I have a tri-leveler.

So much to remember....haha.

Thanks!

I would like to add a 2"x10" wolmanized board to put under your slide side wheels, makes life easier leveling out on site. Some on here like the 'Lego' blocks too. I can't stand unlevel.

Any single ply toilet paper will work. That is what RV TP is.

Add an extra potable water hose.

If you have black tank flush connection, get a separate hose for that.

Add a garden hose wye connection with valves for the two hoses.

I would get a real waste hose instead of the really cheap one they make you buy in the welcome kit. I use Camco RhinoFLEX.

The list never ends.

Oh, I know! I have my "motorhome notebook" in my purse, and I write notes down whenever I think of things. We actually had to go and buy an axe, as we didn't even have one in the garage!!! Have one now!!!

If I think of anything else that we thought was awesome, I'll let you know.

Also make sure it's sharp. When we took our first trip we brought DW's old hatchet. Come campfire time when I went to split some kindling I found the hatchet was so dull I might as well have been hitting the wood with a hammer.

Another items you might need:

- Extension cord, in case the power cord you got with the trailer is too short.
- A lighter, to light the campfire, BBQ, stove, oven, etc....
- Wood for leveling under tires / supporting stab jacks.

Well I have slides on both sides so lucky me. One is a deep slide and the other is only a few feet.

My dealer actually had the RhinoFLEX in the welcome kit and the support. I was surprised. But I will need that second hose you mentioned.

If I had to pick 2 or 3 off the list, which ones would you recommend for this first trip? I already have the fuses

Very nice! You have reminded me about my NOAA weather radio. Where I'm going my cell phone is only on 1x data and they have no wireless internet. Thanks!

Do you think I would get enough lift using the tri-leveler? Hmmm...now you have me wondering what a suitable jack would be. I looked at the Anderson Rapid Jack but didn't come to a conclusion on it.

You can order RV accessories at www.walmart.com and if your order is under $50 you can pick it up at the store without shipping cost. Over $50 they will ship to your door. Combine your non-RV supplies with the RV items to make your $50. In store selection is somewhat limited and varies with the store but online you can get a lot of the common Camco products.

Nice! I did see Camco corporate is only a short distance away from me here in NC. I wonder if they ever have any warehouse sales?

You mentioned "chocks" but might also look at between the wheel X chocks too...

Ultra Deluxe Chock - Ultra-Fab 21-001080 - Chocks & Levelers - Camping World

X-Chock Tire Locking Chock, 2-Pack - BAL 28012 - Chocks & Levelers - Camping World

The small lever action Ultra Fab model set fits between my tandem tires and I find it more convenient than the larger BAL screw down model. My cousin uses the larger BAL because the distance between his tandem tires is larger.

I use regular chocks (like on your list) for safety and these "x" chocks to help stabilty.
