Well...

Well, strictly speaking the NC insurance companies propose a rate increase far beyond what they need and the Insurance Commissioner (an elected position, a member of the Governor's cabinet) negotiates the rate down to a number acceptable to both parties.

Not Amica

I have never known Amica to do this. I've made windshield claims, vandalism claims, and claims where the other party was at fault but uncooperative and they have assured me each time that it would not affect future rates.

They've even insured me with two teen male drivers. Since you're also in NC, why not ask for a quote?

Well that's about the stupidest thing I've ever seen on this forum. So I take it you would prefer a company named Fascist?

Well actually they are on the list of 5 companies conservatives should boycott ...not due to their name but due to their founder . .rip Peter Lewis
") Progressive Insurance: Peter Lewis is the Chairman of Progressive Insurance Companies and outside of George Soros, he may be the biggest liberal sugar daddy on the block. This former close friend of Ted Kennedy has poured tens of millions of dollars into the ACLU, America Coming Together, and MoveOn, among other liberal causes. So, why not get your auto insurance from a company that isn’t working to destroy the American way of life? "

That's from Town Hall ..not me. Just saying the name DOES reflect the values of the founder.

He's been dead for years. Get over it. It's a publicly traded company and USAA works with them. Amazing the things people believe about the politics of a company

Insurance

We have just moved over to AMICA my sister referred us to them she and her family have had the for many years and no problems great service she states, just a call away. Had been with State Farm for years was not satisfied with them after my Agent retired a few years back, back when agents would work with you. Now there are so many State Farm offices about guess then need enough money to pay for all those buildings. Well we got better savings and only needing to make 10 payments a year. We have out motor home thru Good Sam. Much happier now.

Just a little info that may interest you...

Way back before USAA, GEICO (Government Employees Insurance COmpany) served only government employees and military members. Then USAA came along and GEICO lost so many customers the only choice they had was to open their services to the public.

His company, Berkshire Hathaway, has owned GEICO since 1996.

When we were looking at RVs, one of the things we heard a lot was that the company is owned by Warren Buffet. It made us laugh when a sales person would say this. I can't imagine Warren Buffet has set one foot in most Forest River factories let alone have a heck of a lot of interest in how each of the companies is run. Same goes for Geico.
