Never heard this before
Ok the wife has a friend who purchased a travel trailer about 3 years ago.. They hardly use the thing for one reason.. He wont let them use them use the toilet because he says they will have a higher trade-in value if it is still like new..
We just filled out a trade in form and nowhere did it ask if the toilet had ever been used.. What do you all think?? lol

Lol, that's pretty funny. How are they going to check if it's been used? It's a used RV for crying out loud, of course they expect the toilet to be used.

I hope he also stores it off the ground, in a garage, has it shrink-wrapped or covered to protect it from dust, and never never uses it - best way to get MAX TRADE-IN VALUE!! Cant put any mileage on those brand new tires! LOL

While I was looking at used and new MHs I looked at a 2011 30 foot Winni- In amazing shape. They had plastic on the floor, plastic on the chairs, never used the crapper. and only traveled with it on trips with just 1 night. They stopped at hotels/McDonalds/coffee shops to use toilets and if they had to "go", had a small portable toilet in the shower. Sounds like a fun time to me....NOT

It's shocking the strange hangups people have. How do people like this grow up and function right next to the normal people. (I do use the word Normal loosely but you know what I mean}

This reminds me of years ago when I bought seat covers for my new car. I wanted to protect the seats from all the spills the kids would make. Well, after about 3 years some guy ran a stop sign and totalled my car. It went off to the junk yard with brand new seats. I said never again. Let it get worn and stained. I won't feel so bad.

Same reasoning would mean they are not allowed to use the toilets in the house. Just in case the want to sell in the future.

Actually I am surprised at the number of people I hear (or read about on here) that do not use their camper toilet.

I had a porta-a-poti in my sailboat for years. I got really tired of emptying it after every trip no matter how short. I instituted a new rule. "First one to use it empties it" After that usually 5-6 hours before it was used.

X2, that is the reason we bought ours. We can cook our own food, sleep in our own bed and crap in our own crapper!

My mother in law had the same idea about the oven. "No one wants a dirty, used oven." I think she just didn't like to bake. 5 rvs and never used the oven for anything other than storage. I laughed so hard she got offended. She laughs about it now tho.

I am sure this isn't a first... The people I bought my trailer from never used the shower, didn't cook inside and didn't wear shoes inside.
Funny is... My DW bathed in the tub...I didn't want her to shower in there. Those trim panels fit real tight.
We camp where there is a decent shower.
