Yes many RV dealers out of necessity have learned to play with numbers. Great example I have been able to buy all my RV with no money down. This is the worst way to buy and I will never have equity unless I win the lottery or mothball my trl for next ten years while making double payments. I represent a large number of RV buyers. My current trl MSRP was 97k on sell for $67 k . My trade in was valued at $37k ( MSRP $70K but most dealers had 20K off) I was upside down when I bought the ElkRidge but they manipulated numbers I was financed at 98% of the MSRP. No money down. That left me even further upside down I am now financing 104% of the $97K MSRP on a that if I default on might bring the bank $75 if lucky.

Our credit union will only finance an RV if it is a motorhome and they only do car rates up to 5 years financing

Wife and I aren't really in the market for a new one quite yet but we always like to look and see what's out there. Stopped at a dealership over the weekend and we found a couple that were ok but still not better than what we have.

We've noticed that in every single newer model there is at least one feature that we want/need that is missing. Although there are also a lot of new features that simply didn't exist when we bought.

The salesman insisted that right now is the best time to buy because prices will be going up soon. Then when we were looking at the numbers the monthly payments were more than double what we are currently paying.

Unless they come out with a model that we absolutely love and has everything we want, I think we will stick with what we have.

Lol, thanks but the WP 315 is 40'7" long and 13'5" high. Hardly a small RV. It's the perfect size for the two of us, my Harley, and my SRW tow diesel. I think that one should list around high 80's to $90,000 MSRP.


About the video. I could never tow my Harley on an open trailer or expose it to the elements.

just saw this rear bumper mount for hauling motorcycle, only does 600lbs though....

If the deal works for you, your happy with it, and plan on keeping the RV long term then its not a big deal. If you get some extra money sometimes, pay down the principal. That's we we have always done unless the loan was 0% interest.

Covers will scratch paint while they flap in the wind. A toy hauler works fine for us. We were just considering a new 5th wheel because of the current discounts.

I'm tired of lifting the Equalizer hitch. These old bones are weary of that. Early last week we found a used 2022 Class C. Perfect price. Had everything we were looking for. Dealer gave me an excellent trade just shy 2K for what I owed on the TT.

Then when the financing package was presented it was 7.35 % interest and required almost 7K down. Told them I'd let them know on Saturday.

Went home did some research and yes, we could afford all the rip off $ required down and interest. But common sense and a lack of confidence in the pending economy made me pause and decide to keep what I have. My TT has taken us many miles with very few problems, just regular maintenance.
Now I'll just convince my grandson to keep traveling with us to lift the hitch int the receiver. He told me he'd seriously consider it. Fingers crossed.

You don't have to convince him to travel with you. All he has to do is drop by the day before you leave and again the day after you return. Have a nice cold one with him each time and have a pleasant chat.

Haven't seen many Harley's that are under 600 lbs. I think the lightest is 800?
Plus - who would put a $40K motorcycle on a bumper?! Not me!

You could also look at an Anderson hitch which would be much lighter, if they are suitable for your trailer size.

Another choice would be a propride or probably the Hensley hitch. The Hensley head is non-adjustable so should be lighter then the pro pride. Either one will lighter then the equalizer, most of the weight stays on the trailer and is not removed unles you move it to another trailer

Can't believe no one has designed a "safe" platform for one that would go on a small hydraulic roll around jack. Store it along a garage wall inside then. Seems like most hydraulic jacks have the same size lifting plate.

I keep mine stored on the trailer frame so it is just basically a horizontal move if the truck is close with one of those WDH hand carriers. Will probably need a jack setup in the future though.

It can stay on the truck anytime camping. Added protection during a rear end collision from what I have read.

I am a avid motorcyclist, but I have little interest in Harley Davidson’s product line and I don’t know much about it. However, a quick search shows Harley claims the Pan American weighs 540 pounds ready to ride, and an MSRP under $18K. https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...rica-1250.html

That's what we did with our newest trailer. There was nothing wrong with our old one, but we walked through a show and saw lots we didn't like one thing or the other. Then we saw one we liked, and talked about it for a few days. By the time we got around to deciding it was sold. Guess it wasn't meant to be. 2 weeks later, the sales manager called and said that deal fell through and was wondering if we were interested. They gave us $8K less than we paid for our 7 year old trailer, which had $8K in hail damage that wasn't fixed. We bought it in 2020, before the prices jumped. A few months ago we saw the same trailer we bought for $20K more than we paid.

Not everyone who has a motorcycle had a harley.....

oh i did a quick look up on harleys website and they have BRAND new ones for like $13,500 and weighs in at 481lbs so yeah......

And interest rates keep going up, If you are in the market, from what ive seen of quality in the local RV dealers... I would stay away and look for a COVID trailer and older that are filling the used dealers up to the brim. Many people bought to just get out of the house during the pandemic, now they're flooding the used market. Quality wasn't good before the pandemic, even worse now.

Didn't say everyone had a Harley. I was responding to the member that "said he had a Harley". But crying about your bike isn't the point.
So you would strap a brand new $13,500 motorcycle on the bumper of a camper? I wouldn't no matter the brand! But you go right ahead. You defended the same rights in the Army that I did in the Air Force. Happy Camping
