Real PDI!

This is one heck of an idea.

I’m really curious about this. We bought our toy hauler from General RV in Tampa back in 2018. The rig prep itself wasn’t terrible but they still missed a couple of things. I’m curious if this inspection center will really result in better RVs.

Only time will tell. I am hoping it catches on. Maybe they will take on work for other dealers.

Also since the manufacturers pay under warranty. It's another profit center for General.

Everyone wins. Except the manufacturer to a point. This may be the motivation for better quality control.

Have fun

The article is wrong on one point. Funtown RV of Texas opened a similar inspection center in Elkhart, In back in 2019. it is referred to in this article.

Whether either one of these actually helps with delivered quality remains to be seen.

Well Funtown has at least a years worth of data to prove or disprove.

Got to better than the present non-system.

The warranty only kicks in after someone purchases the RV. So does that mean the RV needs to go back for the repairs?
Also if the repairs are done under the warranty before the sale and the RV sits on the lot for a year does the RV still have a warranty?
The more I read the more it sounds like the cost of the RV will go up .

This does not however relief you from haveing a PDI done at the dealer ship. There is a good form listed here on the forum that can be down loaded and take with you when you go to pick up your new camper. Later RJD

No, I don't think these are warranty fixes. If I recall correctly, I think manufacturers allot dealers a certain amount of money for a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).
