We did it!

We just got word today-our offer to buy 31’ Coachman Leprechaun was approved!
Now, where is best place to buy insurance? Should I stay with same company(State Farm) insuring my car? Would appreciate any advice on what to ask to get best coverage. Thanks in advance!

I have had State Farm for over 30 years. They have/had insured all of my cars and home plus three 5er's. I have had some claims on my older 5ers and State Farm paid for everything except for the deductible. When I totaled out a 92 Ford Explore going to work one winter morning, no questions asked just gave me a check for more than the Ford Explore was worth.

My neighbor has a MB class C that is also insured by State Farm, plus his house, two HD motor cycles, and his three cars. He does loves his toys.

Check around but they are competitive and they do pay out for claims. You also get what you pay for!

I have State Farm for my cars and home but when I shopped them for our 5th wheel they could not Progressive for cost or coverage. Progressive gave me vanishing deductibles, replacement cost. I pay just under $800/yr.

So I have been with them now for 5 years and had to make a claim this week. While on a trip last week I lowered (auto-level) the front of my RV onto a propane tank I sat in the way. Crushed the front bottom of RV. The front basement will not close. I had to bungee cord it shut to get home.

I filed a claim online to Progressive on Monday. I have the payoff ($3800) actually in the bank today (3 days later). I’m so impressed with their speedy response.

I’d say, give Progressive a look..

Is this a new unit? We went with Good Sam Club and National General Insurance because they offered replacement value for the rig. I have no idea how good they are because we haven't had a claim. (knock on wood)

Please be careful. Do you need replacement cost? Early on someone told me to go with an RV insurance company and I did, Good Sam. I did this because I wanted replacement cost and a few other RV type stuff. After a few years they got to high so I went with Progressive based on a recommendation from the forum. Someone stated that they had a claim and Progressive was good. They have replacement cost.

AllState works great for us.
Replaced our entire roof after severe storm and tree damage.
No hassles, no increase in premium.
About $550/year

Yep... shop around. Prices within companies are different from state to state so what might be a good price for you, might not be a good price for me.

Same for replacement cost... some folks want that while others are happy insuring it for whatever the value is.
