I fall under the “Working my butt off” category. I got my first job when I was 10 and I’ve my busting my @ss ever since (almost 40 now). Always try to stay as much out of debt as possible and try to make smart moves as far as work and retirement investing. Being a medically retired vet helps though I would rather have my health than a monthly check. Having a like-minded wife who is about to retire from the military with 20+ years helps also, we make a good team. No kids is a huge factor, and so is working in the government sector for job stability. Plus I’m not fooling myself, I know that I will be working until I drop dead in order to make ends, It’s just a reality these days.
