definitely wait on the purchase.

moving is stressful and bringing a new trailer into the mix will just make it worse. plus, the prices will be cheaper in ohio and you could possibly get a newer model for the same price.

My husband is the one who takes a long time to pull the trigger - usually by 12 to 24 months! I would go with your wife’s advice. You will not go wrong with that decision, in so many different ways. Get the dream out of your head for a bit, focus on all the tasks of moving, get the move done, THEN go hunt for your RV. No regrets that way, but I can see many regrets coming if you buy now.

You wife is correct. If it is exactly what you want write the vin number down for a dealership near where you will be living than can order it.

My late wife used to say this about me whenever I went to buy just about anything.

She did however like the things I bought, she just hated the prices.

You are both right. OK she is mostly but you must not admit that.

If it's working out like njkris says. You could call a dealer in Ohio and order what you want, pay a deposit on the negotiated price you see in Dallas and pick it up in a few more months. If it's ready early negotiate free storage until you move with the dealer. You would lose some warranty but likely some you would not use anyway as you don't usually find issues when units are in storage....only when you want to camp.

Let's take a look at the scoreboard:
"Wife is Right - wait to purchase" - 34
"Wife is Right - generally" - 4
"You're Right" - 1 (sort of, but that's only based on the Texas Lemon Law . . .)

I believe the Forum has spoken!

What good is the Lemon Law if the RV is in storage? You would never discover any flaws. Trying to invoke the Texas law after you've moved to Ohio is impractical if not impossible.

Well, we went out for a scenic drive today in the convertible. Couldn't find any scenery here in the DFW area, but we did stop by an RV dealer. We looked at the 21FBRS (2109S) again and she still liked it, but was still unconvinced we needed to buy it now. At least the salesman was on my side. Then something surreal happened. The salesman went off script and started talking about the upcoming RV show and how they always sell a bunch of some 26LGBTQRS something or the other. I asked if we could pull it with the X3, but then my wife butted in and said "I'd like to look at it". Huh? WTFO? Who are you and what did you do with my wife?

So we looked at a 26 FKBS. She loves it. I told her we would have to trade my TLX in on a truck. She didn't say no. I'm not sure what to do now so I am quietly researching 3/4 ton gassers. Wish me luck!

Sound like her 'wait' was really code for 'I love it, but I'd like to look at a few more units.'

You might have lucked out, a new truck and a new rv.

I still think you need to wait and buy after you move. She might just change her mind again.

I would waite. Others are telling you the truth. Also, i would not purchase from RV wholeseller in Ohio. They will take you for a ride and blatantly lie to you. Go top Indiana and make thre purchase. Waite till the weather is better.

I am trying like heck to figure out a good way to get the trailer from TX to OH, but we need the TV to pull our U-Haul full of stuff we don't trust the movers with. 1,000 miles each way, I don't really want to make 3 trips. Could rent a pickup for $200 and pull it up with that then fly back on work. Need to store it for 5 months here in TX ($400). Won't camp much here in TX. Price is about the same although RVWholesalers can beat them by $500.

So after that stream of consciousness, how do I justify driving up and picking it up today? I want it. DW thinks I am an idiot.
All the talk aside about RVs...why oh why would you move from Texas to the heart of the rust belt aka Ohio? I grew up in PA and never looked back once settled in Texas. Gave all of my snow shovels to my brothers lol, lol.

Crazy ride, these past couple of years. We lived in SW OH for 11 years. Moved there for my job in 2008. We moved to DFW last Jan for my work. DW was not happy but understood why. Well, a year later there was a lot of crying and she was not happy here. Loves the weather. Misses our kids who are still in OH and her friends. Turns out with my new job I can work from anywhere, so back to SW OH we go. We are buying a house about 2 miles from where our old house was. How about that for crazy?

RVWholesalers is in Ohio. Order a 2021, the 2020 models are so "last year." New models typically come out in May.

I don’t remember a ride with my purchase.
I think you have it backwards, RV dealers take you for a ride not Wholesalers !
