$60K for a new diesel truck????? Even after negotiating and rebates that is low unless just the difference after the trade vehicle. Going to stop complaining about NC after that!

The only way I would pay 60K for a new truck regardless if it was a diesel or not is if it was discounted from at least 72K or higher...I'd be at least looking for 20% off the MSRP and try and work my deal from there. Really does anyone pay sticker ? No one should for an RV why should you for a truck If they do they are shopping at the wrong dealer.

FYI, if you live in Colorado and you by an RV out of state, try to get them to leave the MSRP section empty or put the purchase price in. I bought mine in TX and the dealer did not fill out the MSRP section and when I went to register it the woman asked what the MSRP was, I said it's a camper, it's what I paid for it. The dealer makes ups the MSRP to see if a sucker will pay it. Probably saved $300+ the first year in fees.
Paying registration fees on a camper with an MSRP of $57k when I only paid $32k seems wrong to me.

Back in the 60s and 70s the local phone company (pacific bell) got around the commercial part for while because it didn’t apply if the unladen weight was under 3000, they bought econoline trucks that had a sheet metal frame which didn’t hold up. The spring mounts would tear out of the stamped sheet metal frame. There has been the talk before about registering non commercial like the other gentleman said you could get fined the price of the fees plus more for carrying a shovel. But you can bolt on a camper shell and load it up? The fifth wheel would definitely make it commercial. The weight In the comparison I used would be the gvwr on the vehicle label.
I decided that my 2004 truck is just fine, runs great, lots of power, goes forward and backwards just like a new one, I was in another state at the time and paid 32k out the door no sales tax and registration was 46 for 2 years. It has a shell on it now so no commercial or weight fees, going stay that way too. It is just the price of the weather here.
