2013 Solara stove vent opening

New to the Solara and having difficulty opening the outside flap on the vent. These things look fragile and I don’t want the break it. Any help? Click image for larger version

You have to push up and out on the two tabs. They are stiff. Mine hasn’t broken (yet).
In truth, the vent fan is quite weak - doesn’t do much - and is pretty inconvenient (high reach on the side of the MH to open or close). I usually just leave the vent closed and turn on the fantastic fan to vent while cooking.

Thanks for help. Will probably use that fantastic fan. Much quieter too.

I too, found it difficult to open/close so I leave it open all the time. It will on occasion rattle a bit when traveling down the highway in strong winds, but otherwise I have not had any problems leaving it open

I leave it open and use a cut piece of sponge to keep the door from rattling when traveling.
