6V House Batteries that fit in the battery box

Hello, I have a 2015 24R and I'm doing research on what 6V batteries that will fit in the step battery box. Seems the height is the limiting factor, I believe I can't go higher than 9.5 inches.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

thanks
Rachel

maybe you could get a bigger box. I fit two Crown 235ah 6 volt batteries in my stock battery box, they fill it up. The lid is tall so there's more room there. Mine are 11 inches tall and they come right to the top of the box.https://www.batteriesplus.com/produc.../sligc2d06235b
Pretty sure this is the box I have: https://www.amazon.com/Camco-55375-B...a-824619387970

From what I’ve read here on the forum, the people who have fit in “golf cart” 6 volt batteries have done so by putting a spacer under the top step to gain height clearance for the batteries. They report success that way, and no significant difficulties.
As I remember, they used a 1/2 or 3/4 inch wooden frame around all four step edges.

FYI, Jim
