But the W floor plan is hard to beat for spaciousness, and the price was WAY better. 14 months, 150 days on-board, and 22000 miles later we have no regrets. All the major components (furnace, water heater, refrigerator, AC, generator) are made by the same companies. The MB chassis is the same, without the fancy steering wheel. The Forest River build on our unit has been solid and trouble free. We have had problems maintaining tire-pressures on the dual tires, and the stock batteries are not great and need to be upgraded (read the Winnie forums... they have the same problems). We had a recall on a electronic device that controls the led tail lights and hitch connection, which FR fixed. The W does not come with an inverter, but all the electronics work on 12 volts, with the microwave and AC running on the generator.
We can replace the batteries 10 times, add the finest inverter, install the largest solar system possible, and we will still be 1000's ahead on the deal.

But the bottom line is what you like and how much you are willing to pay for it... if you are really going to use it, get what makes you happy.

Good luck!

Rkloud9, that was very well spoken - I agree 100% of everything you said and had the same experience with my solera (3 1/2 years /32000 miles) and now with my Forester2400 W (10000 miles in 9 months)! With both I had small problems at the beginning (like any House or Winnies) which were quickly resolved...
