Generator Tailpipe Strap Broke

The strap that holds up the generator tailpipe on my 2013 Solera broke. Has anyone had to fix this issue and, if so, how did you do it? Thank you.

Remove the hanger completely and take it to and auto store to see if they can match it up with something. Also it looks in good shape some one may be able to replace the flex strap with a piece of conveyor belt.

i used some metal plumbers tape, nuts, and bolts. it's the stuff used to wrap around pipe and keep it suspended. a roll of the metal tape is a couple of dollars and is available at any hardware store.

East to fix. Mine had a lot of spray foam covering the bolts holding the strap in place. Scrape off the foam and remove the hanger. The auto parts store had the replacement hanger. Remount the new hanger, respray foam where needed and it's fixed.

Found Part!

I found that the part is a Cummins Onan Exhaust Hanger, part number 155-2174. I got it on Amazon for about $25. Took old one off and now just waiting for the new one to arrive. I didn't have any luck at the auto parts store so I did more research on my own.

sounds about right. i think i read somewhere that there should be a slight down slope on the exhaust pipe so that water does not collect in it.

You have already ordered one....
for anyone else needing one. All the locations mentioned can supply you with a hanger. They make better and worse types. Memory tells me the one that uses a separate clamp to attach to pipe is much better. Just look around and decide the ones you like.
