holes underneath slide out

I own a 2013 solera 24s

Has anyone seen exposed holes directly under the slide out?

I do not recall there are any holes after I bought. Few months ago I had the slide out adjusted and did not pay much attention to slide out because the problem was fixed. Recently my family and I went camping. I happened to be under the slide out and noticed that there are 4 holes. I brought the RV back to the repair shop and showed to the repair shop owner. He claimed that his staff did not drill any holes.

Please let me know if your slide out have any holes

Is this a common practice with Forest river to hole exposed with no plug to protect the wood from the element?
Thanks.
Daniel

Can't help[ you solve your question about what happened but something is rotten in Denmark. I can not imagine that a hole in the bottom of the slide serves a useful purpose.

Cut some thin alum flashing and staple & caulk over the holes.

Never seen holes in the bottom of slide outs but I would think there should be some plugs with a sealant.

Don't know if it would need plugs and or sealants considering the slides only out while camping and isn't exposed to the elements has much as other parts. And as shown there are some marks were the slide is making some contact with the coach I think plugs would get pulled out.

Happy Camping

On my 2011 24s these holes are for the bolts that hold the metal bar to the slide that the dinette seat belts are attached to. If you lift up the seat on the side of the dinette where the seat belts are, you can see the metal bar and the bolts/nuts at the bottom.

Why are you concerned with the holes if they have bolts in them and are inside the coach when the slide is in? Just wondering.

I saw the wood exposed and also concerned if some roddent crawl into those holes and ends up dead inside the slide. it will be hard to deal with that.
Forest River used a lot of foam insulation to seal a lot of opening. I am just surprised that there are no plugs for these four holes.

It is going to tough the keep the plugs in place becuse off the weather strip. I may use aluminum to cover those holes up after the warranty expired.

Thank you all for the replies.

Daniel

Yes, what he said. Factory rep responding as requested. Without pictures I can only assume that the slide was installed, maybe it shifted, needed adjustment and new holes were drilled? Does it look like that? Plastic flat plug would work if its a concern. Expanding foam and then shave off the bottom when it dries.

OK posting #5 is the picture I posted showing the factory installed bolts in the slide. As bclemens is stating I'd just put some foam or plastic plugs up in the holes.

I thought he was saying he had "extra holes" with no bolt in them?

If there are extra holes, then I would assume a slide adjustment was made...slide ram unbolted, realigned, new holes drilled. Voila. If that's not the case...I don't have much to add.
