Must agree with you, op is probably looking for something more specific like parking brake will cut out lights via a micro switch, lights are commonly Bosch on most German built vehicles. Also somewhere between the headlight switch and the lamps is a headlight relay which can also be bad. Even still a 2011 vehicle is subject to bulb renewals by now. Just look at some VW Beetles after 2 years, common to be "one eyed jacks". I had two, common pain of operation.

I agree with Terier, keep putting your 2-cents in. Even if you don't own a Solera it might just help or at least eliminate a possible cause of the malfunction. I routinely look at other areas of this forum and at other sites for ideas and how to do things that doesn't appear in this Solera forum. It would not have occurred to me that the high and low beams would be on a different fuse but now that will be one thing that I'll look for if (when) I have headlight problems...see it helps.

Wow. See, I was going to offer some advice and direction, but as I don't have a Solera specific book in front of me I'll just leave you to your own devices.

So its a solera specific problem? Does it run out of fuel differently as well? Some of these " not solera specific" things to check are exactly the things a shop visit is going to charge you for as they track down your troubles.

Yes, they are generic and not specific to 1 brand exclusivly.
