mattress over cab

We tried to buy our new 24R with no bunk over the cab and no entertainment center - just open space for a custom cabinet installation after delivery. The factory refused and delivered it with a mattress and ladder installed, which they charged us full price for, so we now have to dispose of both items. Any ideas on how to find a home for them would be appreciated.

Even if we did delete it, we would not have given a credit for it. That's typically the cost of a custom request. Had we given a credit, someone would have put it in anyway and it would just get thrown away at the dealership. You're not talking about much for a bunk mat and ladder.

Just an idea, you might want to save the bed and ladder for the next buyer if/when you sell. I'm not sure if the planned custom cabinets will be permanent or removable.

Thanks for the info, Brian.

The factory parts department told us the price for the mat is $400. I'm inferring from your info that its contribution to the purchase price of the 24R was much less than that. We'll try to find someplace like Good Will to accept it as a donation.

Regarding keeping it for the next owner, the custom cabinetry we are having made are certainly permanent and will be significantly better designed and higher quality construction than the similar cabinets than were installed in our previous 24M. The "entertainment center" was just not a reasonable alternative.
