No engine gauges on the Solera?

I test drove a Solera today and noticed there are no engine gauges. The sales guy didn't have an answer as to why other than to say maybe it is an option
So do any of your Soleras have oil press, oil temp, coolant temp, trans temp type gauges?
Thanks, Scott

None of the Sprinter chassis here at the factory have engine gauges, and I'm not aware of us switching them out or even offering an option to do that. If someone has a different cluster, it would have to be an aftermarket thing.

My idea is that FR buy the Sprinter cabs by the dozen at the cheapest price possible So no gimmicks, no leather seats, no gauges, just plain and reliable delivery truck. I supposed that's how they keep their prices in the competition range.

I also supposed you could order a fancy cab but will have to wait a while for the delivery of your Solera.

The bad thing is that it is not user friendly to put the gauge in after. You will probably have to go to the Mercedes dealer $$$.

I also wish the cab would be more luxuous but my wallet was not ready to pay for it. )

By the hundreds actually...but that's just how they come in the "Motorhome Package". We do offer leather seats, but we cover them ourselves so they match the interior decor. You look at any motorhome mfg and we all buy them pretty much the same way. We have to commit months in advance to chassis' so it is very difficult to say "I want one with gauges, I want one with switches on the dash I want one with..." So all of them get bought with the same equipment and then we do what customization we can (that can be done at once we get them) like leather seats, woodgrain dash, iPod dock, GPS nav, etc.

I use it on my friends cars (and mine) all the time. Very handy to reset those silly "gas cap" codes and other things. The basic one gives you the code....and a little known site called "Google" tells you what they all mean.

I think there is an expensive one that is supposed to tell you the code and how to fix it.

Yes it has access to any of the parameters that mb sends to the diagnostic port. I have mine set to display volts, water temp, load percentage and rpm( my pos garmin gps is mounted over the tach in the dash)

Wish it had tranny temp but don't think it does.

Yea i also was hoping for tranny temp. Also wish when you got close to a turn it would switch back to regular GPS functions on its own.

I use a Scan Guage II $149 I think and I love it I know it can give the engine temp and several other things actually quite a few... I mostly like the mileage
part once calibrated it is dead on. it give you 4 "items" at any time and you decide which ones you want. If there is a tranny temp I dont know which it is some are not obvious to me what info I'm reading.
