Solar panels on 2014 24R

Got a question on shutting off solar panels. Can I?
Was filling up the battery and noticed big gassing of the cells. I have a Colman controller and seem to be consuming a lot of water in the battery (s).
I live in Phoenix, Valley of the sun!

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I set my solar controller to cut off at 13.2 volts to reduce water consumption by my batteries before I converted my house batteries to lithium. I have a 100 watt panel with a PWM controller I installed about 7 or 8 years ago. After installation I found I was having to add water every month or so to my group 27 factory installed wet cell batteries. Changing the charge cutoff voltage essentially eliminated the water usage.
FYI, Jim

Thanks Jim, now I got to figure out how I can adjust the voltage. I think I was reading 14 volts plus.
