Where to camp in the N.E. mid Atlantic in early October

Can forum members give their expierence on camping in early October in the N.E. and Mid Atlantic States area. Most interested in early leaves, relaxation, quaint settings low key stuff. Thanks.

Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Pennsylvania is beautiful.

We're thinking of a weekend away at Sea Pines near Avalon, NJ.

Lots of places are still open in early October. May close come mid-to-late October.

I'm thinking Northern Virgina is the limit of the driving range due to timing constraints.
