I just take my smokey joe and put it back in the bed of the truck the next morning when it has cooled down.
We like the taste when not using propane. LOL

I use the one that came with the trailer. It didn't do a very good job and started to rust and fall apart. The metal plate that covered the burner finally gave way at it's spot welds from rust. I was about to buy a new one when I saw a nice burner cover at Home Depot that looked like it might work because it had slots on the edges about the size of the metal tabs that the old one was spot welded to. This cover also has other slots in it to allow more heat in the middle. Sure enough the tabs fit right in and hold it up above the burner and it works much much better now. If I had a new one, I would just go and replace that cover from the beginning. Having written all this, when I finally really do need to replace the grill, it won't be the same one. I will go with a better quality one.

This the one:
15.75 in. x 6.14 in. Large Porcelain Coated Heat Tent-670-0002 - The Home Depot

X 2 now here is a guy that know what he talking about. I'm the same way, use a Colman charcoal grill and have the same one that I got in 1999 and going strong. Oh and mine makes into a fire place when I'm done cooking You want flavor out of your food this is the way to go. You can take your electric or gas grills and get the same results on your stove in your camper. Ya could save some money to. Later RJD

Best portable grill

Another for the Weber Q. Just got our rv this year and bought the Coleman road trip. Cleanup has to be done every time, hotdogs looked interesting first time based on the grill arrangement. It is in the garage now and have the Weber Q instead. Take 20 lb bottle with us to use on the grill. Easy cleanup and cooks much better. Should have known since we have a Weber at the house as well.

Also have a small charcoal grill we take as well.

Yes you have the solution if you already have the cheap gas grill that came with the camper. I got the Gotham Steel version and it fits perfectly. Grilled some pork chops and they were great, grease drips to the bottom and actually puts the sear marks on the meat. The grill stays clean and the griddle cleans up good once it cools.

Im thinking that's easily remedied by a couple of paper towel balls to sop up any excessive grease. Any grill can have a grease fire.

There are quite a few different brands out there and they are reversable. The one pictured does look a little shallow though.

I had a Roadtrip LXE...lasted 3 years until the bottom and burners rusted out. Upgraded to this Blackstone combo and love it.

I had considered the blackstone tailgator that mxdad mentioned. Decided to go with the 17" tabletop after seeing the 28" full size griddle in action. Best grill I have ever had because you can cook everything from eggs to steak. And I just got it worked out to connect with the quick connect on the trailer. Only concern I could see people having is that the griddle top is cast iron, and could be a bit heavy for some weight conscious travelers

Q2200

We love our Weber Q2200 mounted on the back bumper with BillsBumperQ. Our trailer does have a propane gas connection at the right rear corner. As people have mentioned, you do need to clear grease from the tiny burner holes once in a while as they are exposed to grease droppings from above and occasionally become plugged. We use the Q almost daily when camping.

Weber Q here as well. As for the burner tubes getting clogged, the Weber grill cleaner makes short and easy work of that problem!

Had a Roadtrip before the Weber and the Weber is 10X better.

For the clogged tubes- grill mats avoid the problem.

Looks great. I have the slide out OE grill also and may want to upgrade in the future. My question is how do you have it mounted? In less I am missing something, all I see are the blue quick clamps.

Yep. The blue clamps on the back, and the Velcro strap on the front through the hole to hold down the front.. I obviously don't travel with the base mounted to the swing arm.
