Black tank flush not working
After my first trip with my new Vibe 308BHS I tried to use my black tank flush. After I connected the water hose to the BTF fitting on the side of the camper and turned on the water source. I retreated to the toilet to see what it was doing. I opened the lid and with a flashlight and my foot on the flush valve a took a look and nothing is going on down there. So I go back to the panel where I can check the level of the black tank and it's still showing empty. The guy that did my walk through said let it run for 2-3 min and pull the dump valve. He said watch the see through elbow and do this 3-4 times until I see clear water. Well after 15 min and still nothing I decide to just pack everything up and head on to my home. So weeks later I start to trouble shoot this black tank flush thing and after reading up on how it operates I start to hunt for this anti syphion valve. I start under the bathroom sink but find nothing. Then I look in the storage compartment behind the wall that holds the BTF connection port and still nothing. I have a sealed underbelly so I took a few screws out so I could get a look at the black tank and I could see the line hooked to the tank and going toward the front of the TT. Still I could not locate this valve.the place I purchased the camper from said it has to be under the sink or behind the inlet but I could just bring it in and they would fix it. I just didn't want to wait 2-3 weeks to get my camper back from them so I kept on looking but to no avail. So I moved on to the next problem and started working on getting the remote to work the slide. Low and behold laying on top of the water heater and just under the control board for the remote I find this valve I have been hunting. It is laying on its side and hooked up backward. It has a one way check valve and an anti syphion function on it so when I would supply it with water it was preventing water from flowing from that point to the black water tank. To fix this I removed the valve, swapped the fittings on the hose so the valve could be installed in the up right position, rerouted the hoses so the valve is higher than the overflow of the toilet, and used a strap to hold it in position. Problem solved!!! Maybe this will help someone in the future.
