Build history

I was wondering how one can find out build history on an newish unit. I bought my 5er as a stock unit at the Denver show in January and wanted to know all I can find out about when it was actually built at FR, when it was shipped to the dealer and how long it sat on the lot etc.

Is that information available, for the curious etc.

I love the unit and it has been trouble free (except for the glitches I have created).

The manufacturer certainly has all of that information if you provide them the VIN. However, I'm not sure if they will or won't provide it to you...

The manufacturer's label on mine with the VIN, axle ratings, GVWR, etc also has a date which I believe is when the VIN is assigned just prior to production. No date on yours?

5/30/12 is what it says. Wonder when it was completed and went to the dealer?

Dealer was very open with us re our 2014 TT. It had been on the lot *three* days when we laid claim to it.

I asked, not really thinking they'd comply, them to lock 'er up. Didn't want others trailing through what was essentially *our* RV. I figured they'd want to continue to show it, but they actually complied.

I don't have it handy, but our new 2012 Silvrback manual had a page near he front where it explained that code - what factory produced it , etc.

PM me if you don't have any luck getting the info you want and maybe we can figure the build date from that code.
