Inverter

So my new camper came with an inverter manual and I've talked to forest river direct and I should have the inverter, but I can't find it and I'm hoping they didn't forget to install it. Where are yours located, I don't wanna take it in and look like an idiot. 2018 Vibe extreme lite 315 BHK.

For my 2017 308BHS mine is in my front cargo compartment - mounted on the wall that would be just on the other side of the propane tanks

That's why I'm asking for locations, I've pulled panels, checked cargo area, and looked under everything. I just can't find the dang thing.

I don't have a residential fridge, and after a complete search removing all panels, I'm convinced I don't have one.

Might have reached the point where a trip to the selling dealer is in order

Talked direct to forest river, my dealer was a turd after the sale. They said it'll be Tsang cars if at another local dealer for me under warranty.

Looking at the website for your RV and also the brochure they have there, I don't see any mention of an inverter or a residential fridge.

Are you positive you are using the correct terminology and not confusing inverter with converter? All RV's have a converter.....but not an inverter.

100 percent positive, I even got the manual with the camper, it should have been installed in the cargo area.

In general, where does your power cable plug into your RV? If there’s an inverter, it should be somewhere close to the other side of that plug.

That's where the converter is, forest river said the inverter should be in the cargo compartment, it's not, but hey I got the manual. Warranty is going to cover it.

If you don't have a residential fridge what is it going to be used for? Just curious. That is the only thing mine is for.

I have an extreme lite 21FBS, the "inverter" they refer to is the inverter to charge the batteries and provide 12VDC to the camper through a 120VAC system, it's not to provide 120VAC from the 12VDC battery. It is located right over the circuit breaker panel, you can hear it when you plug into the 120VAC system and you turn on the "Main Circuit breaker" and the "inverter/converter" circuit breaker.

My thoughts also. The only reason they put an inverter in is to run a residential refrigerator. My inverter runs nothing but the residential fridge.

I think the factory just gave the op a manual by mistake.

Okay (as I've stated three times) , I'm supposed to have it, confirmed with forest river, and paid for it. They are not just for residential fridges. Without one I couldn't dry camp because all of the outlets will not work on battery because I can only get power from shore through the converter. The inverter is missing and therefore no power from battery to anything but DC. I'm sorry this was pieced together so there it is in a nutshell. Although I'm extremely happy to see how many folks are willing to help.

I'm not familiar with your RV, but some have them under the bed or cooktop.

I hope you get your inverter but you will be the first travel trailer that I have ever heard that had a whole house inverter. I know it is common in MH's but they also have built in generators.

Please come back once you find your inverter and tell us how well it works powering your entire travel trailer.

Dan, That is not an inverter, it is a converter. The converter converts 120 vac to 12 vdc. An inverter converts 12 vdc to 120 vac. All RV's have a converter. Not all and actually most TT's and 5th W do not have an inverter unless they have a residential fridge.
