Ladder on Vibe?

Looking at 308BHS...but I guess this question applies to any model. Does FR even offer a roof ladder as an option? Or has anybody mounted one after the fact? Guessing if they didn't offer it as an option, it wouldn't have the supports behind the skin?

Also - is the roof walkable?

Thanks

I have asked this same question. I have a 308BHS, and found it odd that is didn't have a ladder. I ended up contacting forest river to see if we could get one mounted. They are not build with the support for a ladder. ☹️ (bummer) As for walking on roof, we have been on ours with no problems.

That is odd. Especially if the roof is walkable. Ok, guess its to a collapsible ladder in the cargo area it is then, once we buy.

(Off topic- ladder aside, happy with the 308BHS?)

I have a 323 QBS, I bought a telescoping ladder from Amazon for under 100.00. Its 14ft I believe works great and takes up very little room in the storage compartment.

I have 272bhs. I have spoken to FR to see about adding a ladder. They said it cannot be fine because there are no mounting plates in the wall for a ladder. I use a 6 foot A-frame collapseable ladder. Folds down to a 4 inch square pole that is 6 feet long. For a nicely in pass through and take up no space. I am able to use that to get on top of the slide, then across the rest of the roof. Just need a second persons to hold the ladder steady getting up and down.

I tried to add a ladder to my 21FBS, contacted FR and waiting, but I've checked the back and doesn't seem to have enough support to do that. I walked on the roof today, and heard cracks, not too comfortable about it, had to abort my rubber roof protection application.

I asked same question of my dealer. They checked w FW to find out if bracing was in place on back of my 18 vibe 268rks. FR said yes. Dealer priced ladder installed at 350.00. I got better one from Sams for 100.

What year is yours? Mine as I was told didn't have the backing. So no ladder for me. I just use the 6' collapsing ladder... get up on the slide, then ijn the roof. Gotta clean out the top of the slide before I bring it in at the end of a trip

I just purchased a 2018 vibe 323qbs. I have the diagram from forest river where the ladder can be installed on the back, but have been unable to find a ladder that will work. If possible was wondering where you purchased yours? Thanks

I purchased one of the multi position extension ladders from Sams. Think I paid 139.00 during black Friday. Would have paid in vic 500 had I gone with dealer. The multi position folds up and will fit in 6 ft truck bed. Home Depot had some for around same price and will probably be light duty which suits me fine.

You may be able to find something cheaper at Amazon.

We added a ladder to our 272RL when we ordered it last month and it cost 120.00

I had not heard that but will certainly take that into consideration. The purpose of me purchasing one was simply to keep top of slide clean. Thanks for the heads up.

Just do it!

First thing I wanted after I purchasing our 2016 Vibe 268RKS was to have a ladder added. The service Dept at the local CW said no way, can’t be done. To me that means you don’t want my business and I’ll just do it myself. Never liked the way they “hang” on the back so I built a shelf for the bottom (allowing for the grill to swing). Attached to back wall by mounting Aluminum with Stainless rod and hardware through the wall ending up behind the microwave and stove. Totally hidden. I’m on the roof all the time to inspect seams, sweep off debris and mount my ham radio antennas. No issues (at 200 lbs.) I figure I own it, it’s mine so let the “enhancements” begin.
