Power inverter

I’ve seen posts talking about switching the power inverter when TT connected to a/c power. Question is why and how? I’m sure they showed me but can’t remember. We have a 2017 Vibe 288 RLS. THANKS

If your inverter (12v converting to 120v) doesn't have an automatic switch, then the appliance you are running is running off the battery(s), which are then charged by the converter (120v converting to 12v). Bypassing the inverter when connected to shore power will save energy and wear on the inverter and battery.
