I have the same trailer as you.

In have one battery and run the fridge off the converter while pulling it.

My truck keeps the battery charged while towing. No problem.

You may have 12 volts at the Connector, but the typical vehicle wiring will not supply much amperage due to a long run of thin wiring, but it can't hurt any.

Also if you have 12 volts all the time then you can pretty easily discharge both the trailer and vehicle battery if you don't disconnect the trailer plug.

will never leave camper hooked up to truck when not running for fear of that. I only need to keep batteries charged enough to keep fridge running while to destination and home max 4 hrs.

What have you been running it on?
I still haven't seen you state that you do have a residential fridge.
Nor have you posted make and model.
And same for make and model of inverter.

It would sure help if you cleared this up.

So far the couple times i used camper is parked at my parents house hooked up to their panel. It is a residential fridge 120v only. I believe its a whirlpool fridge with freezer on top. Its small like a apartment style, 5ft tall by about 2ft wide

When advising 6 volt batteries we should always say ," 6 volt GOLF car deep cycles" . My next door friend went to Tractor Supply and bought two small 6 volt tractor batteries not knowing any difference .
