Underbelly problem...

A few months ago I had my thin underbelly crack down the middle. I called my dealer and they told me to buy underbelly tape and tape it up. I taped it and it did ok until yesterday.

I was towing on a 5 hour trip and I had to stop 2x because the front third of the thin plastic type underbelly collapsed out.

My trailer is a 2016 272bhs. My question is:
1. Has anyone had this happen?
2. I bought an extended warranty, so shouldn’t this be a warranty issue?
3. Is there a better fix than this thin sheet that is under there?

Thanks for the help!

While it stinks you’re having to deal with this issue replacing the underbelly isn’t that hard. Consider using fender washers when securing it back up to give you some more added strength. Also, for a quick repair you might try eternabond tape.

Good luck.

Or get some thinner angle steel, measured for cross support in several locations and install with self tapping screws to support the underbelly

I’ve noticed the underbelly of my 2017 308BHS is sagging from front to back. Is this how your crack started?

Yes it wasn’t supported in the middle. It cracked in the middle then it broke around the screws holding it on the outside frame. I brought it in and got it repaired and the screwed it up in the middle and now it is much stronger.

Mines sags in some spots since picked it up in Ohio and trekked South to SoFlo, so far 2k miles no issues. 313BHS ‘18

Ok. Thank you, I’ll be getting some bracing and bolting it on.

We noticed the carpet in our bunkroom was wet, we thought one of the boys spilled a drink, until the next day I noticed it was saturated.. no a/c leaks from the ceiling... However when doing a load of laundry the previous day using the water connection from the empty site next to us I noticed the water pressure was extremely high (we do use a pressure regulator valve on our hose, along with a water filter) Anyways... Sent the husband looking and found this awful site (with a hole punched in the underbelly to drain the water) Anyone experienced this? (Sorry to hijack post, just didn't want there to be a leak and that be the cause of the sagging... will make my own as well)
