Vibe 826VFK water heater

We're going on our first camping trip in a couple weeks. I want to make sure I know how to use the water heater properly so I don't blow out the element in it.
If I want to use it via electricity, what do I do?
IF I want to use it via propane, what do I do?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have the Suburban water heater this may help in your understanding:
