How do you know the compressor locked up? I understand it wasn't cooking, but why a lockup?

Just imagine the price if you didn't have the residential fridge

Not sure I understand your meaning are the gas electric fridges more costly?

There's some speculation that the movement while hauling the RV down the road isn't good for the residential fridges, but that's just speculation at this point.

The fridge you found at HD is exactly the same fridge that came in your unit. They're both residential fridges. One won't be any better or worse than the other. The replacement may run for years.

Oh yeah. To get another fridge that runs off of propane and ele is costly compared to getting another residential fridge.

We have a french door residential in our 5th wheel and it's working fine. I'm just curious though, how do you actually get one of those out through the tiny door of an RV. I haven't measured it, but just looking at it, it doesn't even appear taking the doors off the fridge would make it fit. Just curious...

At last years rally we watched half a dozen techs shove it through the window that they had to remove.

Well it wasn't easy we have a rear bath right by the door we had to take the bath door off and take the doors off the fridge and freezer.I hope we don't have to do it again a real pain in the rear
