2017 R-pod 180 thoughts

Hi all,

We are looking at this model as an entry point into RVs. We have a 2018 Chevy Colorado V6 3.6L with towing package. Rated at 7000 lbs. towing capacity, sticker on hitch is 900 lbs. at the tongue/ 7000 lbs. trailer. Payload 1523.

What do you all think of this model? Towing match for our truck? Price we should be looking at? The dealer has it at 14 and change.

Haven’t seen the inside to see the condition. (Owner trade in and they still had keys, hadn’t cleared out their belongings)

Thanks so much for your help!

Welcome to the forum. We had a RP-180 and recently purchased a RP-192 which is similar floor plan with a bit more space.

Based on the truck specs you provided you should have no problems towing the 180 with your Colorado.

The price sounds reasonable if the 180 is in good condition. Right now there is a shortage of RV's, new and used, so it is a sellers market.

I love my 180. It's a great floorplan for me. Your truck shouldn't have any problem towing the 180.

We tow a 180 with a 2018 Tacoma. No issues. We have towed in mountains and desert. Longest trip was from Phoenix to Seattle and back.

Towing

Shouldn't have any problems. We tow our '17 180 with a Ford 150 and have absolutely no issues...in fact just got back from a month in Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. The only issue was the generally poor state roads in Utah that caused minor problems from bouncing. Should you buy the 180, make sure it has Goodyear Endurances on it, not those stock China gems.
