Same model, love it. I try to keep it about 60 to at tops 65 even if everyone around is driving 70 or even way over here that.

My tires are rated for 75 max. But I have found that the "sweet spot" for fuel economy for me is 62-63 mph. So that is what I drive and I have a speed margin if I have to pass a slow moving semi.

My Carliles are rated to 79 mph but the truck's sweet spot is about 63 mph as well. We never tow over 65 anyway (though the truck likes to run faster at times for some reason ). Cruise control helps, though.

Funny how that happens!

Think of hauling a trailer as good BBQ... low and slow.

Simple answer- dont go over the speed rating of your tires and dont go over the speed limit of the road you are on.

What about the speed rating of your trailer?

Personally I buy the highest speed rated tire in the size that fits my rim because the higher speed rated tire runs cooler.

However, I only drive 60 to 65 or lower speed limit with occasional maybe 70 to pass on a very long flat straightaway.

Just my penny thought.

I find the limiting factors are the speed rating of my tires, how safe I feel going the speed I am going, and my desire to get better fuel economy. That being said, I am looking for a bumper sticker saying, "If you really wanted to be ahead of me, you should have left earlier."

If you find one, buy a couple extras. I'm sure others of us would take them off your hands!

I want one that says:

"I may be slow, but I'm in front of you aren't I"

On the rear of a RAM 3500 Dually...."If you can read this, my trailer fell off."
I run 65 normally, 70 if necessary to pass someone.

Not trailer related but funny anyways.

On the back of a motorcyclists shirt:

If you can read this the b**** fell off.

Like many have said- there's no correct answer to this one other than keep it safe. So many different rigs and driving skills and road conditions make this
a multiple choice question. I often keep up with the Semi's but spend a lot of time in the right lane.

I don't usually go quite this fast tho....

I limit my speed to 65 or the speed limit, which ever is lower. For the daily distances we usually drive going faster doesn't really make much difference as to when we will arrive.

Actually, there is. The weakest-link rule.

Driver slower than your lowest rated speed, tires, trailer, or your comfort level.

We have one that says '0-60 in fifteen minutes'. Can't wait to put it on the trailer.
