prewired backup

I installed a wireless Rohent but there does not seem to be power to the wiring in place. I was told it draws power from the running lights which work so I am either misinformed or I need to understand where the tie in for power is to the prewired back camera mount. Any thoughts?

Rohent is the brand of the wireless backup camera. I have the lights on, not auto, still nothing so I will pull the camera off and trouble shoot on the bench. If everything is ok then next stop is to check for voltage with my meter at the backup wiring. Hopefully it is a vendor issue with the adaptor not a warranty issue. My camper is in the shop now so this will take a few weeks before I get my hands on it.

most cameras are setup as observation cameras and use the trailer lights circuit

NOT the reverse circuit

start by checking for 12v voltage at the 7pin
Number 3 pin to the left of the alignment key way at top of 7 pin

You can also try running a jumper wire from your trailer battery positive

to the #3 pin on the trailer side of the 7 pin

that should give you power to the camera

waiting for trailer return

Thanks for the tip. Should be about two weeks until the TT leaves the shop and I can get quality time with the device and wires.

wire to nowhere

Thanks for all the help. On pulling the trailer out of the shop and using your input I determined the cable to the backup housing is not landed to any power source. I might decide to snake a new wire and land on a running light, just did not have hours to fix this one.
