Sanitizing 2015 179 RPod.

I mixed 1/2 cup of bleach with a gallon of water, Filled the fresh water tank about half full, and poured the bleach solution in the tank and topped the tank off with fresh water. After about 4 hours, I ran the chlorinated water from the storage FW tank through the lines. It smelled like celery. I asked my wife to smell the water. When she entered the trailer she said she smelled bleach. But, when I turned on the water she agreed that it smelled like celery. What should I do?

I'd drain the FW tank, refill with clean water, drain, refill again, pump that through the lines and see if it still smells like celery.

If it does, break out the mayonnaise.

Don't you mean peanut butter?

I'd maybe let the solution sit in it longer. I leave mine sanitizing overnight before I flush. But at least celery isn't too bad of a smell.

I emptied and refilled the water tank. The smell is not as bad, and it is only from the kitchen sink faucet not the shower. So, that is an improvement. Thanks for the replies.

Bearlover, do you belong to the RPod Owners facebook page and the RPod Owners Forum? There is so much info there specific to our rigs. You might find the exact answer you're looking for.

Problem Solved

Since the original faucet was not working well, had a very low flow, I replaced the faucet with a really nice one made of stainless steel and brass. The water flow is great, and the smell is gone. I took the sink out to get to the connections and found that the edges in the cut out for the sink were bare. The trailer is less than two years old, and I saw a short section of the counter top starting to swell. I sealed the raw edges before I reinstalled the sink. Thanks for the help.
