Connecting Portable Satellite

Buddy just bought a 2015 26fbsl. The sealer told him he could connect a portable satellite to the outside park cable as long as he had inside tv power booster on? Is this true? I know it's not possible with my rig but mine is a few years older.

I'm pretty sure the dealer is incorrect on all accounts.

Connecting Portable Satellite

Booster on and the signal comes from antenna. Booster off and the signal comes from cable. If the line has a splitter on it the Sat probably won't work at all. It needs a powered line and the power doesn't make it through a splitter.

I connect my Direct TV satellite into the outside park cable outlet and it works. My setup requires the power inserter into the coax. My MH has a dual coax box inside with a short jumper that I just unhook from the top jack and run it to the receiver.

I don't think that will work.

The satellite box powers the LNA. So when you hook up the box to the coax connector it is going to pump power into that line. I am not sure what the control head by the TV will do when presented with power.

The wiring diagram shows that that cable comes in from the outside and splits before it gets to the tv boost. One going to tv boost and the other going to a satellite only cable connection.
