We miss playing with this toy, it's just not ... practical for all situations.
But lot of fun when we can get it out. No, we do NOT flatten CG's with it.
This was a "block party" a few years back ... a representative portion of our rig. Yeah, there are bigger PA systems, but this one is ours ... not the rental company, or the bank.
Story that night ... "Obviously" the village knows we have a block party, the town delivered road barricades etc. for our use. We get it wound up at like 4 or 5 PM ... Police are there by 6. "Sorry, you'll have to talk to the town councilman, it's his party, for his kids graduation, we are just the sound. That is him standing next to the mayor over there, he has the permit."
Let the kids rock out ... good fun. Police are back at 10 PM sharp. Second Shift. "You need to go talk to the councilman, he has the permit. I think it's for 11 PM." About that time the "adults" get to pick the tunes. Story is told, that George Thorogood sounded great about five miles out. Truth be told, we never took it above maybe 30 percent of what it was capable of. (In tech terms, about 103 dB's C-weighted at 100 Ft., or 6 to 9 dB's below what it's continuous rated RMS power would be. That is 15 dB's below what it peaks out at clean, our spec is 6dB's headroom to peak limiting, and limit before clip. As pictured, we would say it is built for about 0.1 Spectrum Units. But that is a whole another discussion. "We Miss Jerry." )
So yeah, a shameless post fishing for other sound junkies. But fun toys. It's all about the music, and the dance.
