Sandstorm 285slr

Hello. I took my 2016 sandstorm 5th wheel out for the first time this last week. I camped in a wooded area and there was hardly any wind. After two days of camping I noticed my awning were it attaches to the trailer coming off. I retracted the awning and did without for the other two days of camping. On the way home I stopped into the dealer who was not to happy as this was the third one he has seen. I got it fix with no problems just letting people know keep an eye on your awnings.

It is the sandstorm 285gslr toy hauler My dealer has had three come through so far with the same problem. He called his rep and said what the hell is this.

Same here in my shockwave, happened 2nd time out! I ended up fixing myself with Oscar Rivets which I recommend everyone do before it rips out. It seems they were relying on the silicone to hold the rail in place, pretty poor quality in this area.

This is looking up from the ground, you can see the gap between the rail and side.

I took mine in and that's the same way they fixed it was with rivets. It was still under warranty and the dealer isn't very far away. He did call his rep and ask what the heck.

Thanks for the heads up. I've used mine 5 or 6 times and haven't seen anything, but now I'll keep a close eye on it.

I don't suppose anyone has a picture of the repair with the rivets?
