Toy lock

Hey guys I have a 203SLC toy hauler and it has a toy lock at the back corner. This weekend was the first time using it and it worked great until I tried to put it away. It retracted about half the cable and then stopped, no matter how much I worked it back and forth it would not retract any more. Do they make replacement parts for the lock? I would like to find replacement parts as opposed to a new one cause it was welded to the chassis when installed

I have only seen new ones for sale. I don't have one myself and cannot say for sure though.

Was it like this? If so, good luck finding parts. I bought one and used it for 3 years or so. The cable then failed to retract. I tried to find parts but couldn't. The spiral spring inside rusted then broke. I would like another, but won't because of this design issue.

That is what I use now. Simple but effective. It always seems to be at the bottom of the tool now when I need it. Thus why I miss the Toy Lock.

Sounds like you need to buy a new Toy Lock and keep lubing the snot out of it to keep it working right (and from rusting.) It seems like a good idea, but not if it's going to take a dump on you after a few months of use. Lube, lube, lube!

You sure it's welded to the frame? Reason I ask is my new TH came with one and it would not retract also. Come to find out the bolts were tightened to tight and "pinching" the housing against the spring. Once I loosened the bolts it zipped right in scaring the crap out of me. I put new bolts on and doubled the nuts and put lock tite on them also at just the right pressure to keep the housing tight but allowing it to retract properly.

Yeah it looks like I need a new one, and yes it is definitely welded to the frame.
