1/2 Ton Towable 5th Wheel
I'm looking to possibly trade in my 2015 247rkes for a 5th wheel but my tow vehicle is a 2012 Nissan Titan with a tow rating of 9300 lbs. Any suggestions on a lite 5th wheel that I can pull? I know there are a few out there but you guys are the experts, not some dealer trying to make a sale.

IMHO your issue is going to be the pin weight of the fifth wheel versus the payload capacity of your truck. Look for that on the yellow sticker on the drivers side door.
The pin weight of your loaded 5th wheel, plus the weight of your hitch plus the weight of passengers, cargo and your weight over 150lbs cannot exceed the yellow sticker number.
You may be able to do a 5th wheel but it may be a smaller one which may not fit your needs.

Read this recent thread. It will tell you what you need to know. You do not have enough truck to support a fifth wheel.

Many folks who are members of the weight police will tell you 1/2 tons cannot tow 5th wheels. I towed an 8k pound 5th wheel with my ram rated at 10,500 with ease.
Leave yourself a few thousand pound wiggle room and stay closer to 7k pounds and you should be fine. A few very nice models at that weight.

I criticize the weight police quit often, however your post gives them cred. You are dwelling on trailer tow rating rather than discussing pin weight and payload capacity of your truck.
In a 1/2 ton truck it pays to follow the ratings. An 8k 5er has a pin weight approaching 2k lbs or more. That is a lot for a 1/2 ton truck. I would say way overloaded.

Fact: 1/2 ton = 1,000 lbs. 1 ton = 2,000 lbs.
You just have to do the math. Payload is what frame and suspension can carry safely. Towing Capacity is what the vehicle can safely pull. Can any one here carry 500lbs. of sand? Doubt it, but pulling 500lbs. of sand on a dolly is very conceivable.

1480 pound pin weight. The truck didnt even squat with the timbrens i had installed because of my first TT. Do they swear you in and mail you a badge to join the weight police group?

X2 The point being, people are so focused on tow capacity they ignore payload. And those that install springs, airbags are not increasing payload.

I guarantee you that you were over payload. Maybe by 200 - 400 lbs. depending on your setup. Doing a suspension modification doesn't change bearing, axle or frame stress load.

1/2 ton axles vs 3/4 ton (and up) full-floating axles are a big game changer. That alone makes a huge difference... especially when pushing the envelope.

Thanks all. I kinda figured the obvious but was hoping the experts would know better than me. I really like my bumper pull but eventually will upgrade my truck and move up to a 5er. Happy Camping all! See you on the road.
