You probably need to find that warranty paperwork and see if it's necessary. Someone posted here that their extended warranty wouldn't pay because they couldn't document an independent inspection.

If it's necessary, see if they specify who needs to do the inspection. The inspection probably won't cost as much as you think, but CW's repair costs are usually pretty high.

If it doesn't specify CW, find an independent who'll do the work.

above all else

DO YOUR OWN ROOF INSPECTION...

roof is only guaranteed if it is inspected regularly

you will do a much better inspection then anyone else...

put an 8 foot step ladder along the sides of the camper if you are afraid to get on top of the roof

Just had mine done in may which I'm required to do to maintain my Warranty Forever and the cost was $913.73 and that included an oil and filter change {diesel} and I had the generator serviced, that was additional. You didn't mention the roof, important to check and seal if needed.

1 Year Service Question

I bought my current travel trailer last October 2022. It is a 2022 model, and the dealer offers a lifetime warranty. However, in order to keep that warranty in effect, we have to have the trailer inspected once a year, around the same month as the month of purchase. It's a $199.00 inspection fee, but they check for anything that could manifest into a bigger problem down the road, like roof seams, axles, etc. If your unit is under warranty, you probably have to have it inspected yearly to keep the warranty active. But a $5000 service/maintenance charge seems a way bit out of line. I'm thinking that if your not under warranty, you can probably do most of the maintenance yourself. I would pay to have the roof inspected, as well as a few other things that may not be user friendly.

When a service provider uses the word "Inspect", doesn't matter if its an RV dealer, auto repair, Maytag repairman, or your seasonal TV adds for AC/Furnace inspection, that is nothing more than code for "we'll look for something that potentially is wrong so we can fix it, even if it ain't broke, and charge you an outrageous price for parts and labor and then tell you how they saved you from further damage.

X2. "INSPECT" is an invitation for them to up-sell you something.

What kind of extended warranty is it? If its a forever warranty you must take it in to keep the warranty in force. Should cost you about $500 per there requirements. Later RJD

I have the Forever Warranty on my TT. Doesn't cost anywhere near $500 for the inspection. Also get my state vehicle inspection done at the same time. Total for both is about $250. The only common denominator with the inspections is checking brakes, suspension and bearings. Of course my dealer is family owned and takes care of their customers first. The techs have worked there for quite a while and know what they are doing.
I can normally wait while it's being done, abut 2 hours. The owner doesn't have to answer to and pay all the upper echelon or support their extravagant lifestyle.
